Your rights
As a young person you have rights. These rights are a set of entitlements for ALL children and young people, regardless of age and background.
These include the right to:
- education
- be treated with respect
- practise your religion
- be protected from abuse and violence.
- the voice of young people being taken into account when decisions are made that may affect your life
These rights are listed in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). The UNCRC is an international treaty that 197 countries including the UK have signed up to, meaning that they are committed to ensuring these rights are given to all children and young people.

This section looks at your rights as a young person looked after. This includes your rights that Wandsworth Council has agreed, and your rights that have been set out in law.
