When you reach about 151/2, you will be referred to the 16+ service by your Social Worker. This service is called the Independent Living Scheme (ILS for short). You will be allocated an ILS worker who will work with you and help you prepare for independence.

Where possible, we will work with you to find appropriate permanent accommodation.

You will be a former relevant young person. This means we have a duty to keep in touch with you, review your Pathway Plan and provide you with a Personal Adviser.

You may also receive financial assistance with education and training, as long as it is agreed and set out in your Pathway Plan.

If you are in higher education or residential Further Education we will support you to find or pay towards vacation accommodation.
