Independent Reviewing Officers (IROs)

Colin Fry
I have been an Independent Reviewing Officer since April 2003 and continue to enjoy my job. Reviews can mean different things to different people and the meetings have to cover a number of issues. However most importantly Reviews should give children and young people an opportunity to share their views concerning their care circumstances.

Some children and young people will know me already. Therefore it may come as no surprise when I say that one of my favourite past-times is watching Fulham play football - Yes I do mean football. My other interests include music, reading and walking in the countryside not Wandsworth!

Edna Porter
My name is Edna Porter and I am an administrator in the Reviewing Unit. I help the independent reviewing officers to send out the decisions and review forms from looked after review meetings. I also keep a record of all reviews to make sure there are no young people who do not have regular review meetings. 

When I am not working I enjoy taking part in yoga classes and play the violin and piano (badly). I also help my son, 12 years old, with his homework and get him to practice his saxophone and electric guitar regularly (a tough job as he has found a new game called World of Warcraft and wants to play this instead). 

Maple Bonds
Hello, My name is Maple Bonds. I have been a reviewing officer for 4 years. I feel honoured to do this, as this is a very important job because it gives children and young people who are looked after an opportunity to express their views about the plans that are being made for them. I enjoy meeting and talking to the young people, and very much value their input (positive or negative! as this is their reality)

My personal interest includes reading, travelling, religion, and attending live music events, jazz in particular.
