Some employers feel it shows initiative if a person makes a personal approach. See a selction of High Street employers below.

Remember

+ Always look presentable
+ Always call early on in the day
+ Always have a copy of your CV with you
+ Always remember to say 'Thank you'

This kind of approach can be tiring, but it just might pay off. It's you mission!

It is important that you make a note of the name of the company you are sending your information too, together with their telephone number and the date CV was sent.

Leave if for about a week after sending, and then contact them by telephone to ask if they have had a chance to look over your CV and what are the chances of being offered employment or an interview.

On the phone

+ You may need to phone an employer to arrange an interview.

+ This is an ideal opportunity to sell yourself, so try to be positive

+ People will need to call you back and might not be into music, so make sure you don't have MC Randal or such as your answering machine message.
