Who are the WSCB

The WSCB member organisations will designate senior, named staff as their WSCB representatives to ensure consistency and continuity in the membership. Members of the WSCB will have either an executive and strategic role within their agency and/or an advisory role in relation to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children within their organisation.

Members should be able to:

  • speak for their organisation with authority;
  • commit their organisation on policy and practice matters;
  • hold their organisation to account; and
  • provide information about their agency's approach to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

The chairperson is the Director for Children's Services.  The chairperson has a crucial role in making certain the WSCB operates effectively and secures an independent voice.

Support for the WSCB will be provided by the Wandsworth Council Safeguarding Standards Unit Manager and the designated professionals from member agencies.

The WSCB will ensure it has adequate administrative support in the form of a minute taker and meeting administrator.
