Who are the WSCBThe WSCB member organisations will designate senior, named staff as their WSCB representatives to ensure consistency and continuity in the membership. Members of the WSCB will have either an executive and strategic role within their agency and/or an advisory role in relation to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children within their organisation. Members should be able to:
The chairperson is the Director for Children's Services. The chairperson has a crucial role in making certain the WSCB operates effectively and secures an independent voice. Support for the WSCB will be provided by the Wandsworth Council Safeguarding Standards Unit Manager and the designated professionals from member agencies. The WSCB will ensure it has adequate administrative support in the form of a minute taker and meeting administrator. Statutory MembersThe following statutory organisation members are required to co-operate with the local authority in establishing and operating WSCB (Children Act 2004, Section 13(3)). They have shared responsibility for the effective discharge of the WSCB's functions:
