Fostering workers
Each foster carer has a supervising social worker who is usually a qualified social worker and who has the experience of working with children and families. This person is separate to your social worker who is entirely for you. However, similar to your social worker they will have a thorough knowledge of the issues for young people in foster care, the law relating to fostering and the standards that the government have set, which are inspected annually by OFSTED.
Each supervising social worker is allocated a Foster carer who they will support ,visit and speak to regularly. The supervising social worker will also see the young person in foster care and will be able to support and to problem solve any issues as they arise.
